Domino’s gets online lift
In line with the trend seen in the retail sector, Domino’s said a fifth of online business now came from customers using mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, compared with 10 per cent a year ago.
Its online sales were up 56.6 per cent to £84.1m in the UK and Ireland in the 14 weeks to December 30, a figure which included £2m of sales in a single day for the first time. E-commerce now accounts for 55.7 per cent of deliveries in the UK, against 44.3 per cent in 2011.

Hide AdAcross the business, system sales rose 20 per cent to £174.5m in the 14 weeks, although the improvement was helped by an extra trading week this year. Like-for-like sales in 612 mature UK stores grew by five per cent, in line with the trend seen over the rest of the year.
