Star Sportswear jobs saved
MORE than 50 jobs have been saved in Yorkshire after a sportswear firm was bought out of administration. Howard Smith and Mark Firmin from KPMG's Restructuring practice were yesterday appointed as joint administrators to Star Sportswear – the business behind the Prostar sportswear brand – and shortly afterwards sold the business to a subsidiary of Pentland Group, the owners of the Mitre brand.
Mr Smith said: "All of Star Sportswear's 53 employees, the majority of whom work at the company's Wakefield premises, will transfer to the new owner."
