Superstore plan could create 400 jobs
GMI Developments has submitted a planning application to Bradford Council for the development of an 80,000 sq ft food retail store in Shipley, West York- shire.
Following public consultations, plans have been submitted for the food superstore, a separate café or restaurant, a 12-pump petrol station and 364 covered car parking spaces on a site in Otley Road, Shipley, which is owned by Network Rail and DB Schenker Rail (UK).

Hide AdChris Gilman, managing director of GMI Developments, said: “It is widely recognised that Shipley town centre is in need of an additional food store, a fact confirmed by Bradford Council’s own research.
“The site has a huge amount of untapped potential to act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this part of the town.”
An operator will be chosen for the site after it gets planning permission, a spokesman for GMI said yesterday.
