Castle Howard and Harewood House both decorate numerous rooms for their annual Christmas events.
After last year’s sell-out Narnia-themed event at Castle Howard, this year the same set designers have produced Into the Woods: A Fairytale Christmas, featuring magic and fairies.
At Harewood, past displays have centred around festive traditions from different eras in the house’s history, but this year’s theme is Long Live the Christmas Tree!
Artists have taken over the state floor to create trees inspired by the natural world, winter rituals and the estate itself.
