Retirement village in Yorkshire: Accreditation renewed for luxury living complex in Ripon

A luxurious retirement village in Yorkshire has had their Associated Retirement Communities Operators (ARCO) accreditation renewed, confirming its spot as a sought-after place to live.

The Red House in Ripon has once again earned approved operator status by Associated Retirement Communities Operators (ARCO), the main body for integrated retirement communities (IRCs) in the UK.

The body ensures that residents are treated with dignity, respect and support, an ethos which is at the heart of everything The Red House’s owner, Enterprise Retirement Living (ERL), embodies.

What makes The Red House different?

Firstly, it’s a home from home. Made up of 59 apartments and cottages, this is a well-established and vibrant community. All owners live in their individual privately owned home, with all the independence and privacy that offers, supported by 24-hour on-site staff.

Secondly, they don’t view retirement as a time to stop living, but as an opportunity to embrace a new pace of life, with time for socialising and hobbies and filled with as much fun and friendship as you could wish.

At The Red House, one of three retirement villages the company owns in the UK , you can expect a diverse range of activities – perhaps you’ll meet up with friends for evening cocktails at the bar, catch up over coffee in the lounge, have lunch in the Fountains Restaurant or enjoy time out in the library with a good book.

You could join a cookery class, go to a wine-tasting event, enter a team in the quiz or even tend to your very own raised bed in the owners’ garden.

This is a happy, independent retirement based around a community of like-minded people who want to enjoy life.

Don’t miss out on one of the few remaining retirement properties at The Red House. Come and see for yourself all that we have to offer, but hurry – these won’t last long!

Peace of mind with ARCO accreditation

ARCO accreditation is more than words on a certificate; it is a measure of ongoing standards and quality.

“It’s a proud moment for all of us at ERL as The Red House Ripon has had its approved operator status renewed. This status underpins our commitment to bring together like-minded people in inspirational places with everything taken care of, enabling them to enjoy the life they’ve looked forward to.”

Sales and Marketing Director Hattie Bacon

ERL have been ARCO members since 2017.

Among the values the accreditation ensures is that older people:

·       Are treated with respect and dignity.

·       Are valued for their contributions to society and to their communities.

·       Have what they need to be happy and healthy, including access to good support, care, and health services.

·       Are enabled and supported to live independently for as long as possible.

·       Are empowered and free to make informed choices.

It also ensures that operators are fully transparent around fees and decision making, so that potential owners can make fair, informed choices, with independent assessors monitoring service levels to ensure membership standards are kept up.

About The Red House

If you think this is the retirement village for you, you can book a tour or even try before you buy. Moving home can be made even simpler with ERL’s part-exchange programme, which can take the pain out of selling your existing home. And should you ever want to move again, there’s re-selling support from the experienced team. There are even a small number of rental properties, for those who prefer that approach.

What residents say

One happy home owner wrote: The concept was different from anything I have seen and I wanted to know what else was on offer. I visited 11 different complexes and did my own ‘Which-style’ report complete with photos. Everything here is beautiful, the materials, the design. It’s just lovely.” Total life change living here – in fact it’s a whole lifestyle change. I’ve moved but this whole new life has opened up to me.”
