Body of concert-goer found in canal
Christopher Brahney, 22, had not been seen since attending the show at the city’s Heaton Park on Friday June 29.
The band issued a statement through Greater Manchester Police asking for help with the appeal, urging music fans to spread the word in the hope anyone who might have seen the former Leeds Metropolitan University student would contact police.

Hide AdLeeds Met’s student union was among those to push the appeal on its social networking pages to encourage possible witnesses to come forward.
In a statement last night, The Stone Roses expressed their sympathy at the news. “We’d like to extend our sincerest condolences to Christopher’s family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time.”
A police spokesman said: “Police can confirm that the body found in a canal in Salford this morning is that of missing 22-year-old Christopher Brahney.
“Shortly before 9.35am, police received a report of a body in the Manchester Ship Canal, near to Media City, at Salford Quays.”
The statement confirmed Christopher was last seen at about 11.30pm after the concert in Heaton Park and that a post-mortem examination will be held today.
