Cash needed for tourist centre work
Taxpayers are due to foot the bill for up to 35,000 extra required to complete the overhaul of the information centre.
An initial budget of 50,000 had been earmarked for the scheme, which will see renovations carried out and structural changes made to allow North Yorkshire Police and the North York Moors National Park Authority the opportunity to rent space in the building's extension.

Hide AdScarborough Borough Council officers say the revamp is in danger of not being completed if the additional funding is not secured, and more than 5,420 in rent payments would be lost each year. The council spent three years trying to find a use for the tourist information centre's extension.
Plans to allow the county's police force and the North York Moors National Park Authority to rent space in the building were approved at the end of last year.
Councillors are due to meet this Friday when they are being asked to approve the proposals to release the extra 35,000.
