Council bids to develop apprenticeship agency
The council wants to create a new organisation to act as a recruitment agency to seek out organisations to employ apprentices.
They are exploring the possibility of establishing a jointly owned company with Bradford College, according to a report going to the council’s executive on Tuesday, October 9.

The programme would be designed particularly to help the 18- to 25-year-olds, those over 50 and people with a disability or work limiting health condition.
Participants will be employed for a year to carry out work that benefits the community and gain experience that will provide a “bridge into work”.
The aim is to form a partnership with social landlord Incommunities to run the programme.
Councillor David Green, leader of the council, said he was confident that both schemes would offer genuine employment opportunities, particularly for people who have struggled to get jobs.
