Killer of Leeds teacher Ann Maguire to appeal sentence
A panel of judges headed by the Lord Chief Justice Lord Thomas are due to hear the application on behalf of 16-year-old Will Cornick at the Court of Appeal in London.
Cornick stabbed Mrs Maguire, 61, seven times from behind as she taught a Spanish class at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds in April last year.

When he was sentenced last year at Leeds Crown Court, Mr Justice Coulson said it was “quite possible” the teenager would never be released. The judge said he had shown a “chilling lack of remorse” in killing his teacher.
The other members of the panel hearing his appeal are Lady Justice Hallett, Vice President of the Court of Appeal Criminal Division, and Mr Justice Globe.
