Leeds community in shock after double shooting
A 21-year-old Polish national died and a 31-year-old was seriously injured in a “targeted” attack in Wortley.
Police are continuing their investigations after the shooting at a property on Blue Hill Crescent on Friday.

Hide AdOne resident, who did not wish to be named, said the community was in shock: “I have lived here for 24 years and this is just a total one-off.
“I didn’t know the people involved but I think they have been here for about three months.
“It has come as a shock.”
Forensic officers were still at the scene yesterday and a white tent could be spotted at the back of the semi-detached property.
Coun Ann Blackburn (Farnley and Wortley, Green Party) said: “I was very shocked and surprised by it. It is just something that no-one expects to happen.”

Hide AdCouncillor John Hardy (Farnley and Wortley, Lab) added: “It’s an isolated incident and it’s very unusual for Wortley to have things like this going on and it’s out of nature for the area completely.
“It’s absolutely out of character for the area.”
Police are continuing to appeal for information about the incident which happened on at around 5.30pm on Friday.
Detective Superintendent Simon Beldon said: “We are working to build up a picture of what took place and are conducting a wide range of specialist inquiries including a painstaking forensic search of the murder scene.
“We do wish to stress again we believe this was targeted and not a random attack.”
