A NUMBER of homes in the Cross Gates area of Leeds have been evacuated after a hand grenade was found in the loft of a property there.
Officers were called by a member of the public, understood to be a tradesman carrying work on the property, to say he had found the grenade in the loft at around 3.45pm today.
The bomb squad was then called in and a 100m cordon established around the house.
