Man appears in court charged with murder of nine-week-old baby boy in Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Leon Mathias, 32, from Barnsley has been charged with murder following the baby boy's death in 2018.
He has also been charged with Section 18 assault on the same child.

Hide AdMathias appeared at Doncaster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
No plea was entered.
Emergency services were called to a property in the Great Houghton area of Barnsley, just before 9pm on November 30, 2018.The baby boy was taken to hospital, but died on December 3, 2018.
The boy’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oughton, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “I understand this extremely tragic case caused significant distress to the local community in November 2018. The loss of a baby’s life is truly devastating, and the thoughts of my team and I continue to be with those affected."

Hide AdA 29-year old woman from Barnsley who was previously arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding has now been released with no further action.
Mathias will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.
He was remanded into custody.
