Detective Chief Inspector Ian Scott, from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “We can now confirm we are treating this as a murder/suicide investigation. As we have previously stated, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this inquiry and our role is to now establish the facts of what happened.”
Colleagues and neighbours of the couple earlier told of their shock at the tragedy following what police described as a “devastating” domestic attack.
The couple’s two-year-old daughter was believed not to have been home at the time.
Ms Rufino worked at Leeds Occupational Health Limited, which she set up in the city in 2005.
