Stolen caravan tracked down to city centre wasteland
Members of West Yorkshire Police’s Road Policing Unit were able to trace the caravan as it was fitted with a tracking device, and officers recovered the vehicle on land off Whitehall Road at around 11.45am on Monday.
It was part of a cluster of five caravans and cars that had arrived on the land over the weekend.

Hide AdThe caravan had been stolen in Warrington early on Monday morning.
Five police cars and a dog unit were involved in recovering the caravan. A Transit van was also removed from the site by officers.
A teenager was among five people arrested by police on Monday.
Three men aged 26, 29 and 43 along with a 17-year-old boy, all from the Manchester area, were questioned by officers.

Hide AdDuty Inspector Steven Taylor said: “In West Yorkshire we have a high number of plant machinery and caravans that are stolen every year - much higher than cars.
“It’s a pity more are not are fitted with trackers - because as this demonstrates, it makes our job in finding them a lot easier.”
