Wakefield district councillor to face child sex charges
Alexander Kear, aged 49, of Stansfield Drive, Castleford, was due to appear in court this week but his case has been adjourned until June 16 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He is facing two allegations, including a charge of attempting to entice a child under the age of 13 into engaging in sexual activity and attempting to incite a child into pornography.
No pleas have been entered at this stage.

Hide AdHis bail conditions include avoiding unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 16.
Councillor Kear won his seat on Wakefield Council last year as an independent candidate, covering the Airedale and Ferry Fryston ward.
He also sits on the planning and highways committee.
