Dahlia champion ends on a high with three in a row

THE National Dahlia Society individual champion for the third year in a row at Harrogate was a delighted Brian Warriner but he expects a different name to be on the trophy next year because he is going to semi-retire from growing.

He won with his five vases of blooms but says his hobby has been taking up too much of his time.

"Having just won the Scottish individual championship about 10 days ago and now my third win at Harrogate, I can't get much better," said the former paper maker from Barrow in Furness.
