Lifetime honour for CLA’s regional boss
As the region’s director for the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), she is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s North office, which provides support and advice to 6,500 members as well as regional lobbying on a range of rural and landowning issues.
On being presented with the Dalesman Lifetime Achievement Award 2013 at a ceremony at Utopia on the Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton, Miss Fairburn said: “I am thrilled and delighted to accept this award on behalf of the CLA North team and as recognition of the CLA’s work in Yorkshire and beyond on behalf of farmers, landowners and rural businesses.”

Hide AdA farmer’s daughter from the North York Moors, Miss Fairburn previously managed 30,000 acres of countryside for the National Trust in Yorkshire. In her spare time, she is a trustee and vice-chairman of Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
