First prosecutions under new law
They are the first to be found guilty and fined for the offence under the new law, which was introduced in Selby as part of an ongoing anti-social behaviour crackdown in the town. Daniel Burt, 28, of The Laurels, Barlby, Selby, was fined £130, Gregg Adam Darlison, 24, of Templar Way, Selby, was fined £90, Matthew Luke Heslop, 19, of Abbots Road, Selby, was fine £60 and Scott Sweeting, 19, of Westbourne Road, Selby, was also fined £60.
All four were ordered to pay costs of £140. The offences took place in the town centre in July and August this year.

Hide AdAnother 12 prosecutions are due to go before court next month.
Selby District Council introduced the law in March, which punishes anyone found urinating in the town’s streets with a fine of as much as £500.
A spokesman for the council said: “These prosecutions demonstrate the council’s commitment to tackling anti-social be- haviour and keeping our district clean.”
