Humber lifeboat celebrating £65,000 fundraising success
The RNLI's Humber lifeboat is celebrating 200 years of service at Spurn Point, and had hoped to raise 20,000 for its anniversary appeal.
And although there may still be more collections to come it has so far received more than 65,000.

"But I've just been blown away by the enthusiasm and generosity that people have shown, and we're all just over the moon to have raised more than 65,000, particularly as we know this has been a financially challenging year for many people."
One of the major successes of the fundraising campaign has been a "Buy a Year" scheme, each year of the lifeboat station's history being put up for sale for a minimum contribution of 25.
The charity had hoped to raise 5,000 but managed to sell all the years for a total of 24,000.

Club chief executive James Rule said: "It's been a privilege to be involved with the RNLI."
