Lesson in stardom for school pupils as a Drifter drops in
Children of Our Lady’s RC School Primary School in Acomb, York, cheered as Drifter Michael Williams strolled in.
The school has been chosen to perform on stage with the Drifters during their concert at the Grand Opera House York on July 3.

Five decades after the Drifters first soared up the UK charts with classic hits such as Up On The Roof, the group still remain in the Top 20 album lists this week with the greatest hits release of the same name, demonstrating their enduring appeal.
