Man airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with severe burns following van explosion in Clayton West
All emergency services were called to Ings Mill Avenue, Clayton West, just after 1.30pm today.
A van had exploded and caught fire.
The fire spread to a house and garage and a number of subsequent explosions were reported by Kirklees Councillor Will Simpson.

Hide AdA man suffered burns in the fire and police have confirmed he is seriously injured.
He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance.
Firefighters have put out the fire but two engines remain at the scene alongside a Fire Investigation Officer who is looking into the cause.
Cllr Simpson said: "Residents of the property and the neighbouring property appear to be out and safe.
"The situation now appears to be under control and Wakefield Road is open again. I hope everyone is safe and well."

Hide AdA spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Fire said: "Fire crews are currently at a domestic property in Ings Mill Avenue, Clayton West, Huddersfield.
"Firefighters have dealt with a fire following an explosion inside a van.
"The fire has spread to a garage and a house has also been partially damaged.
"The fire is now out.
"Crews attended following a call to our Control Room at 13.39pm today.

West Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident.
