Minster bypassed as exhibition takes a look at town's churches
More than a Minster opens on Friday at Beverley Community Museum in the Guildhall, and staff are confident of raising a few eyebrows with a display showing the range of churches, chapels and meeting houses in the town, past and present.
Museum curator Fiona Jenkinson said: "Obviously Beverley Minster is the main church that most people will think of, but we believe that the sheer number of religious buildings, many of which have now disappeared, will surprise many people.

We do hope, however, that including some stunning pictures of the Minster and St Mary's will encourage more people to visit these two beautiful churches."
The Guildhall is open every Friday from 10am to 4pm and the free exhibition will run until June next year.
Work is already starting on the next exhibition, Pastures and Pasture Masters.
