Name change to honour Olympians
The Old Library, on Town Street, is set to be unveiled as the Brownlee-Stone Centre by Olympic superstars the Brownlee brothers.
Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, both from Bramhope, took gold and bronze respectively in London’s 2012 triathlon over the summer.

Hide AdThe brothers, who grew up in Horsforth, will officially open the new facility which also honours Paralympic hero David Stone.
Members of the public are being invited to line the town’s streets to celebrate their sporting achievements at the opening on Saturday at noon.
Local Councillor Brian Cleasby (Lib Dem, Horsforth) said: “It is fantastic that we have been able to honour these inspiring local athletes in such a way by renaming one of our council buildings after them.
“The Brownlee brothers will be there to cut the ribbon at the naming ceremony and officially open the building under its new name.”
