National accolade for goats' milk farmer
Angus Wielkopolski, owner of St Helen’s Farm at Seaton Ross, near York – the UK’s largest producer of goats’ milk and dairy products – was shortlisted as one of the top three finalists at the 2010 Farmers’ Weekly Awards.
The farm is the only major goats’ milk supplier to use 100 per cent British goats’ milk, and makes a range of butter, cheese, cream, milk and yoghurt from 10 million litres of milk a year. It supplies 40,000 customers including Tesco and Sainsbury.
Mr Wielkopolski said: “It shows that goats’ milk is now being taken seriously at all levels.”
