Ashley Jackson’s legacy as artist turns 80 – The Yorkshire Post says
Through hard work, determination and no small amount of talent, he has established himself as one of the most successful watercolour artists of his generation.
From humble beginnings as a signwriter in Barnsley he went on to open his first art gallery in 1963, and over the ensuing decades his art has brought joy to countless people through his many exhibitions, books and his popular TV series A Brush with Ashley.

Hide AdHe has helped put Holmfirth, where he lives and runs his popular gallery, on the cultural map, and his evocative paintings that so powerfully capture the essence of the Pennine moors have been seen around the world.
The fact that Mr Jackson, who celebrates his 80th birthday today, continues to paint his beloved moorland scenes is an inspiration to us all.
