Dame Judi Dench’s dementia appeal is a legacy of the film Iris – The Yorkshire Post says
Nearly two decades after the film Iris led to the brilliant York-born Dame Judi being nominated for an Oscar, it is insulting that pressure is having to be exerted on the Tories to honour election commitments made just a year ago.
Yet, since then, the near-silence has been deafening. And while Covid is the here and now, dementia-related illnesses will cost the country even more in the longer-term without research to better understand these conditions – and their treatment.
