But this goodwill tour is very much a working visit – a point lost on Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, and Vaughan Gething, the Welsh Health Minister, who have both implied that the Royals were breaching travel protocols and creating an unhelpful distraction.

Hide AdWhat hypocrisy – both would have complained vociferously if Scotland and Wales had been omitted from an itinerary designed to enable the Duke and Duchess to meet the public rather than fawning politicians and their hangers-on.
