They’re also perturbed, even perplexed, that the Government is no nearer to introducing a plastic bottle deposit scheme nearly four years after Michael Gove the then Environment Secretary, floated the idea.
What’s the hold-up? Other European countries discovered long ago that such a system incentivises people to recycle plastic bottles rather than simply discarding them to blight our neighbourhoods and open spaces.
