Boris Johnson’s hijacking of Union flag is phoney patriotism – Yorkshire Post Letters
LIKE the myriad worrying delusions that emanate from this Government and its supporters, I find the sight of the obligatory Union flag as an essential background for many Ministers’ public iterations somewhat incongruous, and more than that a little insulting.
The reality is that despite this contrived symbol of support for the Union the likelihood, as a result of their actions, is that in the near future Scotland, Northern Ireland and probably Wales will be clamouring to leave the Union.
What flag will the PR men recommend then?

Unfortunately, as with all these many delusions, the damage to the genuine interests of the UK and all its citizens is real and to be seriously regretted, and will ultimately be very costly.

HAS anyone noticed the ‘phoney patriotism’ from politicians speaking besides the Union flag when they’re presiding over the break-up of the UK? Such double standards.
