Muslim views on Afghanistan
I RARELY see opinions expressed by British Muslims about our country’s involvement in Afghanistan or Iraq.
I appreciate that while our soldiers are being killed or injured we have to be very sensitive about opinions expressed but surely there are many moderate Muslims who could contribute to a discussion about the best possible outcome in Afghanistan without getting involved in the rights and wrongs of the actions being taken at present.

A little more acknowledgment of the ethnic diversity of the region could be beneficial.
Vision failure
From: Terry Duncan, Greame Road, Bridlington.
I THOUGHT my aerial was correctly installed to receive Freeview.
However, on a visit to my barbers, which has Sky Sports etc, the question of Freeview reception came up.

Hide AdAmong the customers waiting for a haircut from all over Bridlington, the complaints were the same. Freeview often breaks up and the TV screen becomes a mass of fuzzy colours and squeaking noise, often followed by the info that there is no signal.
And that includes Sky News and BBC Look North.
Much of the problem seems to happen in the morning, pre-9am and in the evening, post 9pm.
It is most annoying when I record a programme, and find it has broken up.
Is there a signal failure at the transmitter over the Humber or just a failure with Freeview?

Hide AdWHAT a really lovely story in Sue Woodcock’s column (Yorkshire Post, November 12) about the unwanted dog Peggy, which she has given a home to. She sounds like an extremely kind lady and is also a brilliant writer.
