Plans to build 100 houses rejected
Skipton Properties had applied for outline planning permission to build the houses but members of Craven District Council have rejected the proposal.
At a special meeting of the planning committee councillors were given legal advice regarding issues raised by the applicant’s solicitors about the decision-making process for the Elsey Croft application.

However, the applicant’s solicitors questioned the decision -making process and alleged that the committee did not consider all of the relevant planning matters and that the applicant may consider seeking a judicial review of the decision making process.
However, at a meeting this week, the committee members considered the legal advice they were given and decided to go ahead with refusing the application.
The site is on the eastern edge of Skipton and although the proposal was only an outline application a layout showing 107 homes was submitted with the application.
