Tories 'back in centre ground'
He insisted yesterday that his party had changed. He said: "The Conservative Party is back and it's back where it belongs: in the centre ground of British politics."
With the general election looming, Mr Cameron, who was addressing the Scottish Conservative conference in Perth, focused much of his speech on that battle with Labour.

Hide AdMr Cameron said: "We will fight this election campaign in a completely different way; not just trying to win back those who voted for us before and went away, but reaching out to those who've never voted Tory before."
If the Tories win the general election "we will get our heads down and get on with implementing the big changes".
