Video: Mallard train goes on anniversary tour
The legendary steam engine will star in a series of weekend events in neighbouring regions to its permanent home in York.
More than 100,000 visitors flocked to the Railway Museum to see Mallard during July’s “Great Gathering” which marked the 75th anniversary of its world record breaking run.

Hide AdMallard was one of 35 A4 locomotives designed by legendary railway engineer Sir Nigel Gresley and built in Doncaster in the 1930s. The locomotive was only a few months old when it was chosen for the record breaking run on 3 July 1938.
