Video: Secrets of Yorkshire’s sea monsters
The free event will consist of more than 40 hands-on activities, talks by experts and the chance to see up close the objects and artefacts which the researchers have been studying.
Some of the revelations include the colour of the Museum’s sea monsters, the traditions and ceremonies which surrounded Roman burials, the mysteries surrounding an Anglian gold ring and a talk on the hyaenas which once roamed and hunted in Yorkshire 120,000 years ago.

Hide AdThe York Observatory will also be open to look at the night sky, the museum’s Cosmodome will be running, there will be a host of craft activities to try and actors playing historical characters will be walking around the galleries to meet members of the public.
