Vote 2010
Bad day
Gordon Brown: If, by any chance, there is a streak of superstition in the Prime Minister, his mood would not have been improved when a car crashed into a bus shelter just a few yards from where he was making a speech and launching a new election poster in Birmingham the morning after he appeared weary during the final television debate. Was it a metaphor for where his campaign is heading?
Quote of the day
"He is the new Fisher Price gizmo; it's being pawed, smashed and it's starting to look a bit worse for wear."
– London mayor Boris Johnson on Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg.

They should encourage collaboration between health services rather than competition, use fewer targets that often have unintended consequences and instead trust doctors, nurses, and managers to get on with delivering high quality health care."
– Richard Vautrey, Leeds GP and deputy chairman of the British Medical Association's GPs' committee.
