Accrington Stanley 3 York City 0: McNamara gets vote to rebuild as Minstermen go down
Glasgow Rangers-bound Windass – the son of Hull City legend Dean – has scored in his last four matches against the Minstermen for promotion-chasing Accrington Stanley and he was joined on the scoresheet for this 3-0 romp by on-loan Reading winger Tariqe Fosu.
The Minstermen were outclassed and did not manage a shot until the 80th minute when on-loan Middlesbrough striker Bradley Fewster lifted an eight-yard chance over.

Hide AdNewport’s 1-1 draw at Luton meant Jackie McNamara’s side would have been down, regardless of the outcome at the Crown Ground, but it was still the limpest of performances to mark the day York’s return to the National League they left four years ago was ensured.
With only six players under contract for next season, a rebuilding programme will take place under McNamara, who has been told his position is safe.
The ex-Dundee United chief said: “We’ve got a lot of decisions to make and it’s important we get recruitment right over the summer. I want players who will represent me as a manager and this football club.
“They need to show they will fight until the last minute and have the passion to never give anything up.”
