Patience pays off for Rovers’ Robinson
Robinson, handed a start with Nathan Tyson injured, made the most of his chance and also sent a clear message to Rovers chief Dickov by equalising in the draw, with only the heroics of Doncaster old boy Ross Turnbull denying him further reward.
Dickov said: “I have got to give credit to Theo. He has waited patiently for his chance and I thought he played really well.

“It is difficult when the other two (Tyson and Curtis Main) are doing well and you are itching to get back in. Sometimes, when you do get back in, you try too hard. But I thought he was excellent.
“The one thing Theo has done throughout his career – and let’s not forget, he is still only 25 – is score goals and I think his averages stat is one every three games.”
Despite seeing his side display character to successfully come from behind yet again to extend their solid sequence to one defeat in seven league games, Dickov admitted to giving his players a rocket after the game with the Scot believing Rovers should have won after getting completely on top early in the second half.

“I thought the performance overall was worthy of that and it is Sod’s law that Ross makes three or four unbelievable saves to keep them in it.
“I congratulated them on coming back again, but I also gave them a bit of a rocket in a game we felt we should have won.
“I felt after the first 15-minute period of the second half when we started really well and got on top, that we got sloppy.”
Rovers’ home league game with Notts County has been scheduled for January 20.
