For a bit of fun in the meantime, we fired up the latest edition of Football Manager, and simulated the game beyond the summer and into the future. We had a look at the starting XI, key subs and manager it predicts will be on show for the Terriers on the opening day of the 2020/21 campaign.

2. GK: Ben Hamer

3. RB: Florent Hadergjonaj
A strange one, here. He's transfer-listed by request, but still starts the match over a fully fit Danny Simpson, who's just signed a new deal. Perhaps he's being put in the shop window. Photo: George Wood
