The Football League is to ramp up its Covid-19 testing following a spate of postponements in the last few weeks.

The League is expected to pay to test its players and off-field staff twice a week, having only only previously insisted on lower-league players being tested a couple of times since the summer, and making the clubs pay for it.

Whereas the Premier League has been testing its players on a weekly basis all season, the Football League has taken a far more light-touch approach.
