Wolverhampton 1 Rotherham United 0: Bitter-sweet for Warne as Millers miss chance
To add further weight to their misery, it was their 28th loss of the season – a club record for a 46-game campaign – and relegation to League One could be confirmed in two games’ time.
“I was pleased with the performance but not the result,” said interim manager Paul Warne.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t and people will think it is the same old story, but it wasn’t. I don’t think we deserved to lose.”
Andreas Weimann’s first-half goal was enough to give Wolves a precious three points, which keeps their head above water in the relegation fight.
But Wolves were far from their best against and they were booed at full-time, despite their supporters seeing a first win since January 31.

Hide AdWolves could count themselves lucky that they were not 2-0 down after 25 minutes after Danny Ward missed two one-on-one chances.
After Helder Costa had a penalty saved by Lewis Price, Weimann produced the decisive moment in first-half stoppage time when he got on the wrong side of Semi Ajayi and rolled the ball home.
A nervy second half ensued and Wolves almost paid at the death but Ajayi somehow put a chance over.
