Crawley Town 1 York City 0 - City sunk by late spot kick
SIMON Walton struck an 85th-minute penalty as Crawley Town broke the hearts of York City with a last-gasp 1-0 victory in League Two.
City were looking to end a streak of nine league games without a win under caretaker boss Richard Cresswell who is favourite to succeed Russ Wilcox on a permanent basis.
And despite the Minstermen going particularly close in the first half through Vadaine Oliver and Bryn Morris, it was the hosts who had the last laugh.
Cresswell said: “The outcome is not what we looked for but the performance was absolutely fantastic. I felt we deserved something back from the game. It’s hard to take.”
