Moortown’s Nick McCarthy predicts bright future for 2020protour
McCarthy, who has playing privileges on the European Challenge Tour, has made the more local 2020protour his home since competitive golf re-emerged from lockdown in June.
The 32-year-old Moortown professional has three wins to his name from 18 tournaments on a circuit that has given him and many other male and female professionals and amateurs, a chance to play this summer.

“With everything that’s happened it’s been a good time for them to get going,” said McCarthy. “Everyone’s been at home, everyone needed something to play in, and it’s worked out well for them.
“There’s been some good incentives, and it’s kept a lot of people playing. I think it’s got a bright future.”
The number of entries has dwindled since more and more tours came back but the race to finish top of the 2020protour at Huddersfield on October 5 is heating up.
