Dewsbury began the second period brightly, but a loose carry from Morton effectively put the game beyond Morrison’s men.
Ridyard latched onto possession and fed John Pownall, whose pace enabled him to touch down.

Hide AdMatt Gardner became Leigh’s fourth try-scorer just shy of the hour mark before Dewsbury had Nash sin-binned for alleged punching. Leigh’s Rob Parker, also involved in the fracas, followed him from the field.
