Yorkshire's Super League Team of the Week - Hull FC lead the way after Round One win
Full-back
Niall Evalds (Castleford Tigers)
Some outstanding contenders here, not least Leeds Rhinos’ Richie Myler and Hull FC’s Jake Connor.
However, Niall Evalds gets the nod for his excellent debut in Castleford Tigers colours in their win over Warrington Wolves.

Hide AdScored a try and created both of Jordan Turner’s efforts, each time with brilliant cut-out passes, an area of his game he is not widely known for.
Winger
Tom Johnstone (Wakefield Trinity)
Two brilliant long-range tries in their loss to Leeds Rhinos, the first being a stunning effort which saw him beat ex-England winger Tom Brsicoe for pace and then round full-back Richie Myler with such ease.
Renowned for his acrobatic finishes in the corner, this showed another side to the England winger’s game.
Centre
Jack Broadbent (Leeds Rhinos)
Plenty of contenders, not least Wakefield’s Bill Tupou who caused the young Leeds Rhinos centre some issues in their contest.

Hide AdBut for the key moments, and in the circumstances, Broadbent deserves a slot; only his fourth appearance, playing in a makeshift backline, the 20-year-old Batley-born player scored the winning try, delivered one important run and also made a crucial intercept as Trinity looked to level late on.
Centre
Carlos Tuimavave (Hull FC)
Racked up an impressive 166m from 17 carries. Always oozes class and a great pairing with Josh Griffin who marked his 100th Hull game with a try.
Winger
Ryan Hall (Hull KR)
A hat-trick on his return to Super League after two years in the NRL. Need we say more?
Hall has now reached 199 Super League tries - the other 196 all came in Leeds Rhinos colours - and has shown age (he is 33) is just another number.

Hide AdStill so powerful and robust out of backfield, it was great to see the England winger return to his old stomping ground of Headingley in such style. The only thing missing was victory, after Rovers came from 28-4 down to level against Catalans Dragons - and then miss out in Golden Point extra-time.
Stand-off
Josh Reynolds (Hull FC)
Didn’t take any time to settle into Super League, the big-name Aussie signing quickly made his mark with Hull FC.
Buzzed around for 80 minutes, caused Huddersfield no end of problems, scored a debut try, did his utmost to wind-up his opponents at every opportunity and even flashed his pink undies on one break.
No wonder Hull fans already love him.
Scrum-half
Jake Trueman (Castleford Tigers)
It is no surprise when Castleford halves start falling like flies; they’ve had some rotten luck there and Gareth O’Brien - already a fill-in for Danny Richardson - was the latest to be injured against Warrington.

Hide AdBut Trueman stood up and took control, making some key contributions, especially with the boot, to help steer his side to an opening day win.
Prop
Scott Taylor (Hull FC)
Came off the bench and led from the front for Hull, who were a prop light after Josh Bowden failed to come back following a HIA. Looked hungry and gave Huddersfield plenty to think about.
Hooker
Matt Parcell (Hull KR)
Didn’t play big minutes like the excellent Danny Houghton at Hull FC but - along with Elliot Minchella - had a massive impact pepping up Rovers as they fought back from 28-4 down to level 28-28. The Australian’s pace remains so dangerous against tiring defences.
Prop
Matt Prior (Leeds Rhinos)
The Australian showed his worth to Leeds once more; understated, hard grafter who carried for more than 100m and made 30 tackles. Always the glue that sticks them together. Essential part of their pack.
Second-row
Oil Holmes (Castleford Tigers)

Hide AdAs industrious as ever with 34 tackles, 15 carries and 119m made, Holmes also scored Castleford’s opening try.
Second-row
Manu Ma’u (Hull FC)
Marginally ahead of his team-mate Andre Savelio in terms of stats, the Tonga international is as solid as they come; made 30 tackles, missed just one, and carried 17 times. Hull fans will hope to see the best of him after a difficult first season.
Loose forward
Joe Cator (Hull FC)
Was excellent when he came for Hull, carrying on from where he left off last year. Got through a mountain of work in defence and attack and brings such energy.
