Whitaker partners Ornellaia to third in Germany
The class proved to be popular with 51 combinations contesting the class, all trying to take home the lion’s share of the €61,500 prize money on offer.
With only four combinations putting in a first-round clear, it was a close contest.

Hide AdHome rider Vanessa Borgmann took the win, partnering Come To Win 51 after producing one of the only three double clears of the class after crossing the finish line in 43.24 seconds.
She was closely followed by Swiss rider Chantal Muller on U Tabasca with just 0.48 seconds separating the two riders.
Third place went to Whitaker and Ornellaia after they produced the final double clear of the class in 46.38 seconds.
Fourth place went to German rider Maximilian Weishaupt.
Drivers from the thriving North East Driving Trials Group returned to Yorkshire triumphant following the National Indoor Driving Trials Championships in Keysoe, in Bedfordshire.

Hide AdSteve Hoyle was crowned Intermediate Horse Champion and Tara Wilkinson won not only her class for Senior Young Driver, but also the overall Supreme Champion Junior title across all the age groups.
Her father John Wilkinson was Reserve Champion in the Open Horse class, Diane Longbottom finished third in the Novice Horse and Joanne Thomas was sixth in the 18-strong Novice Pony class.
On the point-to-point front, the Yorkshire Area Point-To-Point season continues this Sunday with the fixture at York & Ainsty Easingwold.
