Picture gallery: Flying Scotsman at York on its way to Scarborough
The legendary locomotive was making a test run to Scarborough ahead of its inaugural journey from Kings Cross to York later this week.
The Scotsman, painted in its traditional colours, passed through York just after lunchtime.

Hide AdIt is returning to the tracks after a decade-long, £4.2 million refit. Last month it thrilled hundreds of rail enthusiasts when it emerged into the East Lancashire Railway’s Bury Bolton Street station after the final stages of the work at a nearby yard.
The locomotive has been returned to its BR Green livery and has had its nameplates reattached ahead of its inaugural run.
